Welcome to Hillary Mondry Counseling

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR) offering art therapy and counseling to school-age children and their families, as well as adolescents and adults. I use a combination of talk therapy and art therapy depending on the goals, preference, and comfort level of the client. You do not need to have any artistic experience or skill level to benefit from art therapy! In art therapy, it is the process of art making that offers an alternative means of expression, as well as one that can facilitate the verbal through self-exploration and gaining a greater awareness of self. Engaging in art making also has other benefits that include relaxation and the releasing of tension, and improved mood.

The foundation of therapy is a trusting relationship, which I work to create through upholding confidentiality, keeping sessions client-centered, collaborating with you to create goals and treatment plans, and checking in regularly about progress. In my practice, I strive to help people feel supported, listened to, and connected. I offer a safe space for expression, both verbal and through art making. I serve as a non-judgmental guide in helping people identify and explore their thoughts, behaviors, and patterns that they no longer feel are serving a healthy purpose, and then work towards change using a collaborative approach.
